Daily Bible Reading
This reading plan takes you through the Bible in a year and includes the New Testament twice. Each day includes chapters from both the old and new testaments. Proverbs and Psalms are woven in throughout the year. The plan opens up many amazing links that you may otherwise miss. Start with prayer asking the Lord to make His Word today’s bread. To make your time in the Word even more powerful, try this journaling technique called SOAP. Here's how it works: “S” Scripture. Select and write a scripture from today’s reading. ”O” Observation. Write a personal observation from the selected scripture. ”A” Application. Write a description of a way to apply this to your life today. ”P” Prayer. Write a short prayer.
Don’t be ritualistic about this - it’s just a tool to help you apply Scripture in daily life. Sometimes it may take you 10 or 15 minutes and other times an hour or more. Just follow what the Lord has for you each day. It is awesome to write it down. You will find yourself looking back at the things God has shown you and how He is changing you. SOAP journaling is a simple process with amazing results. |
